Chances are you'll never hear something like "The FOREX Market scam investors".
There is a bad impression about what the Forex Market in general is, due to different types of scams carried out by individuals that have nothing to do with the FOREX Market.
In this image we see a cut of a very aggressive advertising. It tries to touch the greedy subconscious of the human being. Fill the need to obtain great benefits in a short time. This company is practically a competition for casinos and the lottery.
The creativity that we can observe in the elaboration of these scams is amazing. But the FOREX Market swindles anyone. People cheat other people with the excuse of investing in the Foreign Exchange Market.
Anything that involves a payment on your part in exchange for obtaining a good or service, through which you do NOT receive the acclaimed benefit, constitutes a scam. And if that person or company repeats his action, he becomes a scammer.
There are multiple ways to cheat through the FOREX Market. Let's see the most common and above all how to avoid falling into the trap of these sellers of illusions by not getting the desired benefit in exchange for our money.
- Robots
- Brokers
- Pyramids
- High Performance Programs
- Courses
Remember, the most important thing is to know how to identify them.
Robots
A robot constitutes an indisputable FOREX scam, unless you're willing to buy a new one every month.
The FOREX scam is the fact of selling the idea that an automated system can turn you into a trader. The answer is no. It makes you a Robot Assistant. "
The FOREX scam also lies in making you believe that managing a robot is only to attach it to your MT4, forget everything and withdraw your winnings every month, forever.
Automated systems valued at $ 100 or $ 500 can serve little purpose. If they were profitable, they would not be for sale for that amount of money. The programmer would have taken the trouble to offer it to a financial firm or an investor.
It is likely that there are some profitable, but the changing Market Dynamics is responsible for the effectiveness of these Robots disappear and must be adjusted by their designers.
Unlike the algorithms or "Expert Advisors (EA)" developed for MetaTrader, the automated systems of speculation (High Frequency Trading) that are the real beasts used by the big financial houses to manage the "depth of the markets" and to support the highest percentage of Foreign Exchange transactions, need very high internet speeds and be placed at short distances from the centers of electronic networks (to be able to compete with other HFTs) and a hardware acceleration system that is extremely expensive.
Without forgetting the price of data, engineers, mathematicians, professional speculators and a great capital to support the bad spells and "constant adjustments".
This type of algorithm moves 90% of the volume of the Market and today all the operations of aggressive funds are made with HFTs.
Brokers
All brokers that do NOT charge commissions are scammers. In chapter 8 of this course we describe this class of runners in the NDD type and the NDD-STP type.
Apart from inflating "the difference" considerably, these brokers do not allow in many occasions instantaneous executions ("re-quote" or "re-quote"), totally distorting the stock market reality. The FOREX Market swindles anyone, the synthetic runners do.
When you speculate through one of these companies you are not participating in the true FOREX Market. You are simply participating in a small game against your runner.
Something very similar to playing a video game.
The transactions are fictitious and you are never connected to the real market. Therefore your data and your graphics are synthetic.
Open an account with an ECN broker and observe the maximum and minimum price on any given day and compare it to a synthetic broker. In general, the maximums of an NDD or NDD-STP are lower and the minimums are higher, distorting and influencing your decisions to place risk orders (stop loss).
As for operability, there are many other ways to cheat customers. But the most delicate thing is to find a runner that is 100% a FOREX scam. These brokers after gathering a large amount of deposited volume, simply disappear.
It is easy to detect a phantom runner.
They are not registered with any government agency and their business history is quite short. They also do not have affiliations with other financial institutions.
Pyramids
The schemes of pyramids in FOREX have been very common in the past. The pyramid scheme has been used in multiple variants and the FOREX theme has not been the exception.
Using the theme of the Foreign Exchange Market to create pyramid companies has been very creative. The FOREX, being a subject little known by most people, had all the qualities to be 100% credible because it was a real investment mechanism.
The main characteristic of a pyramid scheme is the high performance offered to its customers, bait. It's usually too good to be true. Promises of fixed returns greater than 20% per month are suspect. If true, any bank would be more than happy to hire you to manage some idle funds.
Other features of a pyramid FOREX scam are:
- A great sense of urgency for you to start investing
- The promises that the profits will be constant
- They claim that the investments will be risk free
- Lack of information material about the strategies and the company
- Avoid talking to your lawyer or accountant
- The owners never show up, only the collectors
- They do not have legitimate references from banks or other institutions
- They do not have legal documentation that they can provide to their clients
- They use the telephone or the internet to get their customers
- Nobody knows them. Short business history, or perhaps none
- They do not allow you to contact another employee of the company
- They promise very high monthly returns
- All this is carried out very subtly using various tactics of public speaking to divert attention and not raise suspicions, always presenting valid and argued excuses to answer any important question by the client.
The FOREX Market scam anyone. The pyramids do. The FOREX Finance case is one of the most famous.
High Performance Programs
High Performance Programs are quite common in FOREX. They are relatively similar to the pyramid scheme in terms of the facade they expose their clients.
Operability may vary a bit, in the sense that these programs try to keep the client as long as possible. You usually deposit money in an account to be withdrawn in a period of 90 days, 12 months, or whatever the fraudster company's requirement is.
When the day of retirement arrives, the company begins to send you notifications excusing itself for not being able to return your money "in those moments". These excuses tend to repeat themselves until you give up, or until you take the matter from a legal perspective. But usually it's already too late.
The FOREX Market scam anyone. High Performance Programs yes.
FOREX courses. The Scam in Disguise.
Many people do not consider the FOREX courses as a scam, due to the low cost to which they are offered.
But in reality it is the simplest way to cheat. All the courses promise you that you will earn a lot of money by speculating in the FOREX Market, once you learn the new infallible method to speculate.
The courses have many forms of presentation. They can be on DVD, in ebook format, face-to-face (seminars), or even online (webinars). The mere fact of thinking that a course will give you the knowledge to become an expert in any subject, is unheard of. Intensive training is needed to develop permanent skills.
The seminars, both in person and online (webinars), are another waste of time and usually serve as propaganda for the exhibitors.
You could not become a race car driver by attending a 2 or 3-day seminar. It does not matter if the seminar was given by Michael Schumacher himself.
Now, if Michael invited you to accompany him to be his assistant in "the wells" during 25 F1 races, your story would be very different.
In short, books and seminars do not make the teacher. The practice yes.
It would be like selling a course to become a surgeon. Imagine these ads on the internet (I do not doubt that one day it will happen):
- "Participate in this 2-day seminar and become a successful surgeon."
- "Learn all the techniques and strategies to operate open-heart in 7 steps".
- "10 Modules that will teach you to become the best doctor in the world, guaranteed."
- "Download this ebook for $ 97 and start bypassing immediately"
- "Infallible method to become a surgeon. Start a heart transplant today. "
I think you do not need more examples. Instant success does not exist, only in the lottery. In speculation, as in any other career or business, you will need time, capital and effort. Do not fall into the trap and guard your capital.
